How is the
Elks National Foundation
Helping Oregon?
You're doing all that, and you're supporting Elkdom in Oregon.
During the 2007-2008 Lodge year, the Elks of Oregon donated $188,523.75 to the Elks National Foundation. This year, the Foundation will give back the following:
·
A State Charities Grant of $109,300.00, a Special Projects Grant of $80,020.00.00 and a bonus grant of $30,090.00.00. The bulk of this grant will go toward Oregon's major charitable project. But portions will be used to fund Oregon's Drug Awareness, "Hoop Shoot" and Soccer Shoot programs.
·
A total of $7,500.00 to Veterans Service volunteers through the Elks Veterans Service Commission. These funds will help them provide aid and comfort to hospitalized veterans.
That's a total grant of at least $322,910.00.00, which represents a ratio of $1.71 for every $1.00 the Foundation received from Oregon last year.
And if you'd like to know what the Elks National Foundation has done for Oregon in the past, since inception in 1928 through March 31, 2004, the Foundation has granted a total of $6,392,278.18 to Oregon, compared with Oregon's total donations of $5,827,667.45. That's a ratio of $1.097 for every $1.00 the Foundation has received from us.
The Foundation's past support includes:
·
$3,078,057.00 in State Charities Grants
·
$852,273.00 in Special Projects Grants
·
$1,525,964.04 in "Most Valuable Student" Scholarships
